Copy & Print

Find out how to use the self-service photocopying and printing services available in the Library Information Resource Centre.

You can print, copy and scan to email using the printers/photocopiers on the ground and first floors of the  Library Information Resource Centre.  You need your T Card to use the printer/copiers.

You must have credit on your T Card account to use the photocopiers or printers.

When you send a job to print from one of the computers in the Library Information Resource Center it is held in a paused queue until you log into your T card account.

    1. Swipe your T card to log into your account. Any jobs waiting to be printed will display
    2. Select the job you want to print.
    3. Select Print at the bottom of the screen.

        2. Tap Copy
        3. Put the document into the top feeder or under the lid.
        4. If applicable, change the settings (e.g. for double-sided copying, tap 2 > 2 Sided
        5. Enter the number of copies you want  – the number of copies defaults to 1. If you enter an incorrect amount, press the C (clear) button and re-enter the number.
        6. Press the Start button
        7. If you have more copying to do, press the Services Home button and complete the copying.
        8. Press the Log In/Out button.
        9. Tap Logout.
Scan to Email

      • Swipe your T card to log into your account.
      • Tap Email.
      • Put the document in the top feeder or under the lid.
      • Tap Add Me… or Enter Recipients…
      • If you want double-sided scanning, tap 2-Sided Scanning…, tap 2-Sided, then tap OK.
      • Press the Start button.
      • If you want to scan more documents, press the Services Home button and complete the additional scanning.
      • Press the Log In/Out button.
      • Tap Logout.

Students can top up their t-card online

You can also top up your TCard using your smartphone:

  • Visit the iOS/Google Play App Store and search for ‘TCard’
  • Download & Install the App
  • Login using your student/staff TCard ID and Password
  • Enter 4 digits to create a Quick Top Up PIN
Depending on the file size, number of images etc it can take several minutes for a file to show up at the print station.

  • wait a few minutes and try again
  • make sure it has been sent from your account. You must be logged on yourself for files to go to your account for printing.
  • make sure you have selected the correct printer – student black and white (any) or student colour (any).
  • Select the print command for the application you are using (for example, if you are using Microsoft Office Word it is File > Print)
  • Choose the printer queue you want to add the print job to:
    • Black & White
    • Colour
    • Plot
  • Select your settings (for example; A4 paper, print all pages etc)
  • Select OK

Your job is now sent to print and will be stored in the print queue until you decide to print it.

You can print from any of the sit-down computers in the Library Information Resource Centre.  You can also print from the stand-up express print station, near the photocopiers on the ground floor of the  library.  The express station is reserved for quick print jobs only – if you need to make changes to your document before printing it, please use the sit-down computers to do so.

You cannot print from the Quick Reference PCs  – these are reserved for searching the Library Catalogue.

You can buy a guest T Card at the Information Desk. Guest T-Cards cost €5 and can be used to photocopy, but not to print. Please return used cards to staff at the Information Desk.
