Distance Learners: Borrowing, renewing & returning books
Borrowing, renewing and returning books
Distance Learners can borrow up to 7 books for 2 weeks. Books that you have borrowed are renewed automatically, up to three times, provided that no other reader has reserved or put a hold on the book. You will be e-mailed a number of days before the book must be returned when the maximum number of automatic renewals have been reached or if someone has placed a hold on the book. Please see here for more details:
Books can be checked out at the self issue machine on the First floor of the North Campus Library. You can also check out books at the Library Information Desk. In the South Campus, you can borrow books from the Self Issue Cabinet in the Reading Room. We also provide a Click and Collect Service in both Campuses. For more details, see our Click & Collect Guide here. We will also be introducing an app in the coming weeks where you can borrow and return books using your phone.
Please return books to the book drop bins in the South Campus Reading Room and the North Campus Library, or to the Library Information Desk at the North Campus.
Books borrowed from the Self Issue Cabinet in the South Campus Reading Room need to be returned to this cabinet.
