MTU Libraries have completed a substantial amount of work throughout 2020 to ensure the successful roll-out of twenty-three shared e-resources common to all MTU campuses for 2021.

New content has been added across disciplines, including new forms of delivery (e.g. video streaming). In addition, increased content has been added to some existing platforms.

Resources new to MTU Kerry Campuses are as follows:

ACM Digital Library is the world’s most extensive collection of full-text journals and published literature on computing and information technology.  Sources include journals, conference proceedings, technical magazines, newsletters and books, plus the ACM Guide to Computing Literature – a comprehensive bibliographic database focused exclusively on the field of computing.

Proquest Ebook Central now includes the Academic Complete titles package, which provides full text access to over 180,000 academic ebooks.  A wide range of subjects are covered, including: agriculture, engineering, manufacturing, business,  management, computing, education, travel, tourism and hospitality, social sciences, psychology, general sciences, nursing, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, botany and zoology. The EBook Central platform is designed with mobile in mind, so you can access the site from your tablet or phone, and download ebooks for offline reading.

SAGE Business Cases brings together multiple collections of case studies covering all areas of business. ARTSTOR A digital library providing access to more than 300 collections composed of more than 2.5 million images.  ATRSTOR images are from reliable sources and  have been rights-cleared for use in education and research – so you are free to use them in classroom instruction and handouts, presentations, student assignments, and other noncommercial educational and scholarly activities.

Bloomsbury Applied Visual Arts is expressly designed to support and inspire visual learners.  Content includes more than 170 highly illustrated books, titles covering key skills and topics within each discipline and at different levels of study, case studies, leading practitioner interviews, and learning activities.  Fields of practice covered include fashion and textiles, design and illustration, photography, film and animation, architecture and interiors, marketing and advertising and more.

medici.tv is the world’s largest on demand library of classical music medici.tv’s library features over 1,800 programs (3,000 original works), including concerts and archived historical concerts, operas, ballets, documentaries, artist portraits and educational programs and master classes.  medici.tv is available on all screens: PC, Mac, mobiles, tablets (iOs and Android) and television via AirPlay or Chromecast.

Enrichment of existing platforms:

Emerald  is the world’s leading publisher of management journals and databases and our subscription includes Emerald Tourism and Hospitality Management which represents the perspectives of world leading researchers in this field. Our enhanced subscription now also includes access to 50 new management journals.

The Library continues to work on expanding and merging the existing e-resource portfolio with the long-term objective of broadening and enriching the collection to serve the needs of the new Technological University.
